VSX.is is an independent Czech website focused on digital Privacy, secure communications and technological alternatives to dominant platforms. We write about browsers, email services, VPN, alternative phones and other tools to help people take control of their digital lives.

Who is behind the website

The website is run by an author writing under the acronym VSX - a person who digital privacy has long been of interest to us, not least because we work in an environment where confidentiality and data security matter. Privacy Policy is therefore not an abstract topic or a fashion trend for the author of the website, but something he encounters in practice. He tries to write the texts on the web from this perspective.

VSX.is is not a commercial project or a platform for sponsored content. It was founded on the belief that independent, fact-based information about digital privacy has value - and that it is fair to write about these tools from the perspective of someone who uses them themselves.

How we approach content

The articles on VSX.is are based on our own testing, observation of the expert community and user experience from relevant forums and specialized foreign websites. Our intention is to combine different sources and perspectives so that the resulting text is more accurate and balanced than a single reviewer's view would be.

We try to write in a clear way - for readers who are not necessarily technology experts, but are interested in how the tools they use every day work and the decisions behind their choices.

What you won't find on the web

VSX.is does not publish sponsored content or paid reviews. If the site uses affiliate links or advertising in the future, this will always be transparently indicated. Independence of opinion is more important to us than commercial partnerships.

How to track us

New posts are published regularly on Wednesdays and Sundays. You can follow them in two ways - both are open, do not require registration and do not collect any data about readers.

RSS Feed - the classic and proven method of content extraction. Just add vsx.is/feed/ to your feed reader (Feedly, Miniflux, NetNewsWire, etc.).

Fediverse - this blog is part of the Fediverse, decentralised networks, which includes, inter alia Mastodon. We do not run an account on any foreign platform - the website itself is a federated instance. From Mastodon or another compatible client, you can find us at vsx@vsx.is. New articles will appear directly in your feed, just like posts from anyone else you follow.

Contributions to Fediverse are going out in Czech. However, you can read them in other languages on the site - just switch the language version in the navigation.
